WOMAD 2004
Friday 23rd July - Sunday 25th July

WOMAD 2002

For the third year running, the RSFLA will be performing at the WOMAD Festival in Reading.

During this year's Festival, RSFLA members will again be treating thier audience to a blend of Nicaraguan music, and traditional childrens' games.

In addition to the ever-popular piñata (in which blindfolded children attempt to smash open a papier mâché container filled with sweets), there will be a number of games which highlight some of the problems that face people living in Reading's twin town in Nicaragua. One such game will explain how water must be collected from wells, in areas not connected to a mains supply - while another game explains some of the issues concerning the production of Fair Trade goods.

The event is also a chance to disseminate information and leaflets about the projects in San Francisco Libre that are funded by supporters of the RSFLA - and an opportunity to gain new members.

Further information can be found, and tickets purchased, on WOMAD's official web site, in the Related Web Links section at the bottom of this page.
